DivOverview Privacy Policy

Last Updated: May 9, 2025

At DivOverview, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our website and services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information:

  • Personal Information: When you sign up, we collect your email address, name (optional), and a hashed password. For paid tiers, we also collect a Stripe customer ID to associate your account with your payment.
  • IP Address: We store your IP address when you create an account (for both free and paid tiers) to enhance security and monitor account activity.
  • Auto-Login Cookie (Optional): If you choose the "Stay logged in" option during login, we set a single cookie to enable auto-login functionality. This cookie is optional and only set with your explicit consent.

We do not use cookies for tracking, analytics, or any other purpose. We do not use third-party tracking services, such as Google Analytics, or any other form of behavioral tracking.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain the Service, including account creation, authentication, and access to features.
  • Process payments for paid tiers through our third-party payment processor, Stripe (see Section 4).
  • Enhance security by storing IP addresses to detect and prevent unauthorized access or abuse.
  • Communicate with you, such as responding to support inquiries or sending service-related notifications.

Email Communication: We do not send newsletters, promotional emails, or any unsolicited emails. The only emails we send are password reset emails to help you recover your account, as requested through the password reset process.

3. Data Storage and Security

We store your personal information securely using industry-standard measures, such as encryption for passwords and secure database practices. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your IP address is stored in our database and retained for as long as your account is active. The auto-login cookie, if used, expires after a set period (e.g., 30 days) or when you log out.

4. Payment Processing

For paid tiers, payments are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. We do not store any payment details, such as credit card numbers, on our servers. Stripe collects and processes payment information in accordance with its own Privacy Policy. Please review Stripe's policies for details on how your payment data is handled.

5. No Third-Party Tracking

We do not use cookies, web beacons, or any other tracking technologies for analytics, advertising, or profiling. We do not integrate with third-party tracking services, such as Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar tools. The only cookie we use is the optional auto-login cookie described above.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties, except:

  • With Stripe, solely for payment processing (for paid tiers).
  • As required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or legal process.
  • To protect the rights, property, or safety of DivOverview, our users, or the public.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to legal obligations.
  • Opt out of the auto-login cookie by not selecting "Stay logged in" during login.

To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@divoverview.com.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information, including your IP address, for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information, except where required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., record-keeping for paid transactions).

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
